Visentri is a filtered shower head, not a water softener and not a medical device. It does not reduce water hardness, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Results depend on your local supply and vary between people. Any struck-through price on this page is the total of what the same items cost individually on this site. Free gifts are added to qualifying shower head orders and are not available on the replacement filter element on its own.
Why bother
It is time to upgrade the head on your wall
Chlorine and fine sediment come out of every shower in the country. This is the cheapest place to take them out.
-
Kinder on your skin
The media stack reduces the free chlorine your supply carries, so your skin is not stripped every single morning.
-
Kinder on your hair
Less chlorine and less fine sediment means less of the roughness that swallows your conditioner.
-
A stronger shower
The outlet plate is restricted, so the same flow arrives with more force. It is the difference you notice first.
-
Four minutes, by hand
Standard ½ inch (G½) thread. No tools, no plumber, no landlord — and it unscrews again when you move.
The detail
A handheld filtered shower head with the filter cartridge in the handle, where you can watch it discolour as it loads. Ten spray modes, and a burst-proof hose that will not split. It replaces the handset on a hose — and if your shower is a rigid arm out of the wall, the hose and bracket turn it into one.
Choose your finish and your kit
Same handset in every option. What changes is what comes with it.
- Head + hose & bracket. The complete swap, and the one to pick if you are not sure. Handset, matching hose, and the wall mount with its fixings — so it works whether you are replacing a tired handset or converting a fixed arm into a handheld for the first time.
- Head + 1.5 m hose. For a shower that already has a bracket or riser rail you are happy with. A reinforced burst-proof hose in a matching finish.
- Head only. Your hose is sound and you only want to change the head. A five-second swap.
In chrome or matte black. The matte finish does not show limescale spotting the way chrome does.
The ten spray modes
Changed by turning the collar: rainfall, massage, massage + mist, spraying mist, rainfall + mist, spraying, full rain and powerful rain — plus two concentrated washing jets, power jet and wide fan. A one-click switch on the body stops the flow at the head while you lather.
The filter
A multi-stage shower filter cartridge sits in the grip, reducing chlorine and the fine sediment your supply carries. The filtration system is not hidden inside the body: the media is visible, and it discolours from the inlet end as it fills. When it has gone brown, it is done — you are not trusting us, you are watching it. One cartridge lasts roughly a month of ordinary daily use, and the handle unscrews to fit a replacement filter cartridge.
Why people look for a shower filter for hair and skin
Most of the searches that end up here are not about plumbing. They are people who have noticed that their hair feels straw-like and their skin feels tight the minute they step out of the shower. The common thread is chlorine — it is a disinfectant, and disinfectants strip oils. A shower head water filter reduces the chlorine and the fine sediment in the water leaving the head, so less of it lands on you. That is the entire mechanism, and it is the only claim we make. It is not a treatment for any skin or scalp condition, and we do not say it is.
Why it feels stronger
The outlet plate is restricted, so the same flow arrives with more force. On a weak shower that is the difference you notice first — before you notice anything about the water itself.
Will it fit?
Every option connects on the standard ½ inch (G½) shower thread — the universal size used on wall arms, bar mixers and riser rails alike, in the UK and the US. Hand-tight, no tools, no plumber, and it unscrews again when you move.
Which option do I need? If your shower is a rigid arm coming straight out of the wall with no hose on it, choose head + hose & bracket — the bracket is what gives the handset somewhere to sit. If you would rather keep a fixed head on that arm and not have a hose at all, buy the 7-spray filtered shower head for hard water instead.
One honest caveat: on a gravity-fed or otherwise low-pressure system, any filter adds resistance and may reduce flow. If your shower is already weak, this is not the product for you.

What this is not
Visentri is a filtered shower head, not a water softener and not a shower water softener head. It reduces chlorine and sediment carried in your supply; it does not reduce water hardness — that needs an ion-exchange system and a plumber. Visentri does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition, and nothing here is medical advice.

Side by side
Visentri vs. the head already on your wall
Both screw onto the same ½ inch thread. Only one of them does anything to the water going through it.
“Ordinary head” means a standard unfiltered shower head of the kind fitted as standard in most homes. Specifications vary by manufacturer.
Not sure this is the right one?
Two heads. It depends on your shower.
A handset on a hose, or a fixed head on a rigid wall arm. They are not interchangeable — see both side by side before you choose.
