What it does

• Seven spray settings — rain, massage, mist, bubble and combinations, changed at the face.
• A 25-layer filter element — the media stack sits in the clear section of the neck, reducing chlorine and the fine sediment your supply carries. It discolours from the inlet end as it loads, which is how you know when to change it. Roughly three to four months of ordinary daily use for one person.
• Pressure-boosted face — the outlet plate is restricted so the same flow arrives with more force.
• Electroplated ABS — light enough not to droop on an older arm, and it does not corrode.

Why people look for a shower filter for hair and skin

Most of the searches that end up here are not about plumbing. They are people who have noticed that their hair feels straw-like and their skin feels tight the minute they step out of the shower. The common thread is chlorine — it is a disinfectant, and disinfectants strip oils. A shower head water filter reduces the chlorine and the fine sediment in the water leaving the head, so less of it lands on you. That is the entire mechanism, and it is the only claim we make. It is not a treatment for any skin or scalp condition, and we do not say it is.

Will it fit?

It takes the standard ½ inch (G½) shower arm thread — the universal size the head already on your wall uses, in the UK and the US alike. Unscrew the old one by hand, wrap the thread with PTFE tape, screw this one on. Under two minutes, no tools.

Read this before you buy. This is a fixed head. It needs a rigid arm coming out of the wall or ceiling. If your shower is a handset on a hose — a bar mixer or a riser rail — this is the wrong shape, and you want the handheld filtered shower head instead.

Changing the filter cartridge

The neck opens by hand. Old element out, new one in the same way up, neck closed. Under a minute, no tools. Replacement filter cartridges are sold on this same listing, so you are never hunting for a part number.

What this is not
